Social Media Best Practices

The Center for Sustainable Health Care and Equity is working with a network of pastors and church leaders on the Faith Health Alliance — an effort to increase awareness of a variety of health topics in underserved communities throughout the United States.

Social media is a powerful way to share trusted health messages from the pulpit to the timeline, reaching members where they already are.

These sample posts and guidelines can be adapted for Facebook, Instagram, X, and other platforms your ministry uses.

Partners / Connections

No congregation does this work alone. Technical Assistance helps connect churches to partners that bring clinical, community, and data expertise to faith-rooted health initiatives.

Sample partner blurbs:
National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF)
“NMQF offers data-driven insights, educational support, and national networks that help congregations address local health disparities more effectively.”

Center for Sustainable Health Care Quality and Equity (SHC)
“SHC equips clinical teams and faith leaders with training, toolkits, and coaching to improve health outcomes in communities of color.”

Local health systems and community organizations
“Churches can collaborate with nearby hospitals, community health centers, and advocacy groups to co-host events, share resources, and provide follow-up care.
